International Standard: This is the worldwide version of the Ballroom dances. These are the Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.
American Smooth: This is the North American way of dancing the Standard Ballroom dances. These traditionally are Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz. A fifth dance, Quickstep, is sometimes danced at competitions but is not widely recognized within the core Smooth dances.
