Ashley Mayer (owner)
Ashley Mayer is the owner of Studio B Dance Center where she dances and teaches full time.

Ashley has been dancing since the age of 6 and spent the later portion of her teenage years focusing in Ballet and modern dance.

After moving to Columbia in 2006 she fell in love with Ballroom and began her career as a full time dance instructor at a local Ballroom studio. There she competed for a year and a half with her former partner Martin Pickering in the American Smooth Style. In the spring of 2009 Ashley opened Studio B Dance Center.

Scott Bell
Scott Bell is originally from Wisconsin where he attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He was recruited by Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Memphis, TN where he worked as a professional dancer and teacher for 6 years.

Scott moved to Columbia in 2010 and continued his dance career dancing and teaching full time at Studio B Dance Center.

Scott has received his Advanced Bronze and Silver certification in American Smooth and Rhythm from the Fred Astaire Dance Board and continues to pursue certification with the Dance Vision International Dance Association.

Awards & Titles:
• 3rd Place - Dancing with Missouri Stars 2010

Cory Keck
Cory Keck has been a professional dance instructor for several years. He teaches private lessons as well as group classes including teaching the Friday 7 p.m. lesson before Studio B Dance Center's weekly Ballroom Party's.

Cory will teach you anything in American Smooth & Rhythm but just wants his students to have fun with whatever they do.

Lauren Young
Lauren started dancing at the age of 3. Originally from Ft. Collins, Co., Lauren trained at Canyon Concert Ballet from 1995 to 2006 in ballet, modern, tap, flamenco and Mexican Folk dance. She danced with the Junior Company for six years and performed in many ballets including "Nutcracker," "Peter Pan" and "Alice in Wonderland."

It was not until she arrived in Columbia to attend MU did she find her love of ballroom dancing. She joined the MU Ballroom Dance Club and eventually became their president during her junior year.

She has competed as a student with Michael Shultz at the St. Louis Star Ball and won first place in their Silver Pro/Am American Smooth Scholarship as Michael's student. She has also competed across the country at Purdue University, Illinois State University and the Ohio Star Ball for the National Collegiate Championships.

• 1st Place - Purdue Ballroom Classic - Gold American Smooth 2011
• 1st Place - Purdue Ballroom Classic - Silver American Smooth 2011
• 1st Place - St. Louis Star Ball - Silver Pro/Am American Smooth Scholarship - 2011

Melanie Auinbauh
Melanie started dancing with the Ballet Academy of Texas in 2000 and was with them until 2008. She performed in 2002 in "Nutcracker Suite" and performed with that show as a pre-professional until 2006. She performed in seven other shows including "Coppelia," "Symphonic Elements" and "Grace Under Fire."

She became a professional dancer with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet in September of 2008 and performed seven shows with them through 2009 including "Live" in April of that year.

Melanie is an instructor for ballet, ballroom, latin and swing at Studio B Dance Center and teaches both group and private lessons for students.

Diana Roberts
Diana is a highly accredited ballroom instructor from St. Louis, Missouri. Along with her former professional partner, Alan Clements, Diana has won over 20 Professional Dance Titles.

One of Diana’s most prestigious awards includes being a two time consecutive winner of the “Sammy” award, which is given to the Top Female Pro/Am teacher in North America at the Ohio Star Ball.

During the week, Diana teaches dance at Studio B Dance Center in Columbia on Mondays, in St. Louis other days and twice a month at Walters Dance Center in Kansas City. She teaches all levels of dance and also coaches the dance instructors of tomorrow.

• Two Time Winner of the “Sammy Award”

Diana is currently retired from competing professionally. She regularly competes on the Pro/Am circuit with her students.

Michael Shultz
Michael is a dedicated instructor to all his students. Throughout his years as a professional dancer, Michael has achieved many titles in his career including being a finalist at the North American DanceSport Championships at the Ohio Star Ball.

Michael has also won Top Teacher at many events across the county and has helped his studios win Top Studio at several competitions. Michael is certified at Gold level and a member of the USISTD and NDCA.

Students from Studio B have gone with Michael annually to the St. Louis Star ball in March of each year as well as the Heart of America Ball in Kansas City in August, and various other competitions around the country.

Lila Shultz
Lila’s vast résumé includes ballet, ballroom, jazz, tap and figure skating with Disney on Ice (1998-2001).

Lila teaches out of Kansas City and also comes to Studio B Dance Center during the week as well. She and her students have traveled the country for Pro/Am to the Ohio Star Ball in Columbus, St. Louis Star Ball and Heart of America DanceSport Championship in Kansas City.

Lila and her partner have won first place at the Yuletide Ball Championship as well as being a finalist at the Ohio Star Ball. She has also helped her studios to achieve Top Studio Awards on several occasions. Lila is a member of both USISTD and NDCA.

Kyle Snow
Kyle Snow has been dancing for over 20 years. He is a proficient dancer in Waltz, Cha Cha, East Coast Sing and even Country Western. He has competed around the state and country with several excellent results!

Kyle has taught in Kansas City and St. Louis, as well as being based out of Columbia. He was also a guest instructor at the Swing Niagara in Buffalo, New York.

• 7th place - Dallas Dance Swing Competition - 2007
